Background: Italian Spiderman is a series of YouTube clips (http://www.myspace.com/alrugo) for a non-existent movie, the whole project being a dead-accurate parody of extremely cheap superhero rip-off movies done in Italy, India and elsewhere. The Italian Spiderman character (who is always addressed as 'Italian Spiderman', even by other characters who speak Italian) is pursuing a strange asteroid for no coherently explained reason. His archenemy in this mission is Captain Maximum, a mastermind villain who wears a business suit with a luchador mask.

At one point, Italian Spiderman washes up on shore and finds that the asteroid is in the possession of Captain Maximum and his beach-bunny henchwomen. To resolve the confrontation, Captain Maximum challenges Italian Spiderman to a surf-off. During the surf match, Captain Maximum gets two of his henchwomen to restrain Italian Spiderman, but Italian Spiderman summons a horde of penguins, who drive off the villains by pummeling them with their bodies. Italian Spiderman then returns to the beach and fires harpoons into the necks of Maximum's two female guards to retrieve the asteroid.

Personality: Italian Spiderman bears no resemblance at all to the American Spider-Man, and more resembles a stereotype action hero from cheap Italian movies of the 1970's. Thus he is rather slovenly, uncouth, and extremely violent.

Quote: (to the woman he's just rescued) "Shut your mouth, pussycat, and pour me a macchiato, pronto!!"

Powers/Tactics: In the source material, Italian Spiderman is said to possess super-strength, though based on how easily he gets grappled by normal-level thugs, I tend to doubt this. Actual powers he has demonstrated in the clips include: teleporting from one place to another, danger sense, poisoned bite, the ability to summon animals, the ability to turn a toy motorcycle into the real thing, the ability to command chickens to lay cigarettes, the ability to detach his mustache as a thrown razor weapon, and the power to fly. He is also very good with firearms and is a skilled motorcycle rider, even though he can apparently run as fast as a motorcycle.

Appearance: Italian Spiderman is a very fat man with a large mustache and shaggy brown hair, greatly resembling porn legend Ron Jeremy. He always wears a red sweater with dark slacks and gloves. He is distinguished as a costumed hero in that he always wears a large 'burglar's mask' over his eyes, and the red sweater has a spider logo on the chest, although the spider looks like it was made by a five-year old.
