Background/History: Very little is known of the Preacher's past. All that can be said for certain is that he once faced Marshall Stockburton, who believed that he had killed the Preacher. Stockburton might have been right.
Personality/Motivation: The Preacher is a calm and peaceful man, although a look into his eyes suggests that "cold" might be a better word than "calm". He is straightforward and practical, capable of seeing to the core of a matter quickly, and coming up with a concise and uncannily accurate assessment of a situation or person with only a few moments of observation.
He prefers peace to violence, and will give his opponents a chance to resolve a situation without bloodshed, but does not hesitate in the slightest to use deadly force when it becomes necessary.
The Preacher seems to see himself as everyone's equal, which in short order gains the confidence of the humble, and the ire of the self-important.
Most of all, he will go out of his way to help the innocent against those who would take advantage of them, and does so without even considering that he could do otherwise.

Powers/Tactics: When interacting with those that he's trying to help, the Preacher uses his force of personality and speaking skills to point out the heart of the conflict and give them the courage to make the right choice. His ability to "pull together" a struggling community is, perhaps, his greatest power.
In combat, the Preacher prefers to use a combination of Stealth and Presence attacks to separate, disorient, and surprise his opponents. In many cases, this allows him to resolve a potentially violent situation with little or no harm to his opponents, as they realize how outclassed they are. Against highly competent foes, he adopts frighteningly effective hit-and-fade tactics. If the Preacher is serious, his foes will never see him until he has them where he wants them.
Typical Equipment: Normally, just his clothes and his bedroll.
When prepared to fight, he carries a large cap and ball revolver, converted to take metallic cartridges. He carries three spare loaded cylinders, which can be placed into the gun by pulling the loading lever down, pulling the cylinder pin forward, removing the spent cylinder, inserting the fresh cylinder, pushing the cylinder pin back in, and finally pushing the loading lever back up. He also carries a smaller cap and ball revolver which may or may not be cartridge converted.
I suggest using the stats for the .45 Colt Peacemaker for the larger gun, and the stats for the .38 revolver for the smaller gun.
Appearance: The Preacher is a tall, lean man with a short, graying beard and cold, hard eyes. He typically wears a red coat and a black cowboy hat with a narrow brim. The general impression is that of a man that takes care of his appearance without being vain.
Campaign Use: Use the Preacher when you need a force of nature to blow into town and get things moving. To make the Preacher less powerful, reduce or eliminate his many combat abilities. To make him more powerful (!), either boost his combat skill levels, or assume that he is, in fact, some kind of ghost, and give him a Teleport, Invisible Power Effects or Invisibility, to reflect his uncanny ability to suddenly be there and then equally suddenly not be there.
