Background:
Desolators are the elite troops of the Iraqi army in the alternate world of Red Alert 2. Equipped with a powerful Radiation Cannon, the Desolator is capable of taking on both infantry and vehicles. The Desolator is a unit designed not just to destroy the enemy, but to deprive him of land.

The Desolators may (some hints in the fluff text suggests this) all be clones of the same trooper or same few troopers.

Personality/Motivation:
Desolators are elite troops. They are loyal and incredibly brave, thinking little of throwing themselves at enemy tanks if ordered to. They also have very twisted senses of humor.

Quote: "Ready for meltdown."

"Scorched earth!"

"There goes the neighborhood!"

Tactics/Powers:
The Desolator is equipped with a powerful Radiation cannon, that functions in two ways. The first is firing a beam of concentrated radiation that dissolves infantry to puddles of glowing green goo and cuts through enemy vehicles. The second requires the Desolator to plant the cannon in the ground. Once there, the cannon emits a radiation field over a wide area, poisoning the land, and destroying any units that come into the area. The Desolator must remain immobile while using this attack; if he wishes to move he has to uproot the cannon, disabling the radiation field. Units that are immune to radiation (Mammoth Tanks, Terror Drones and other Desolators) are not affected by these weapons.

To protect them from enemy fire (and their own weapons), the Desolator wears an armored Radiation suit. The suit is protected against enemy small arms fire, and contains an emergency medical system to treat the trooper in an advent of a breach. The trooper carries a small nuclear power source on their back.

Appearance:
The Desolator's uniform consists of a red radiation suit underneath metal plate armor and helmet. An eerie green glow emanates from the helmet's faceplate. The Rad-Cannon is a bulky, shoulder-mounted weapon with a glowing green barrel.

Design Notes:
Much of what I've got here is based on the trooper's appearance in-game and guesswork. I'm assuming that the Desolator's self-healing ability comes from medical systems, and not the trooper having a mutant healing factor. (Otherwise, the suit might not be as safe as thought...) The rationale used here was that a Conscript is a skilled normal with a 2d6 RKA (AK-47 rifle).

This conversion covers just in the game; for a more complete version, the gun probably should be a Bulky OAF, throw on a few more soldier skills and ad a pointless pistol to the equipment.
