Description: Jonathan Chase was born in Africa in 1952, while his parents were on yet another of their expeditions into the deepest and darkest wildernesses of the world. Though his mother died when he was quite young, Jonathan helped his father for many years, as the brilliant scientist and occultist studied the mysterious secrets of Tibetan lamas, Kenyan witch doctors, and Peruvian mystics. At some point in their travels together, his father mastered a secret ritual that allowed him to take on the forms of various animals. It was the last thing he taught young Jonathan before he disappeared.
Now, Dr. Jonathan Chase is a professor of criminology at New York University, where he frequently consults for the NYPD between teaching classes on basic investigation techniques, forensics, and criminal psychology. He’s frequently been called on by Detective Brooke McKenzie, herself a rising star in the department, and every so often he comes across a case that they can only solve with the use of his own remarkable powers.
