THE BURNING WOMAN

Professor Phineas T. Horton got a white wash from the War Department and later the OSS and CIA in the wake of World War II. His early experiments in induced pyrokinetic talents resulted in two functional pyrokinetics during the war years, one of whom (code named Toro) was able to father two children before his death. The Burning Woman is a second generation product of Horton's doomed, CIA funded "Firestarter" project. The Burning Woman has eschewed the traditional roles of masked vigilante, government operative, and even criminal for hire, instead choosing to pursue a career as a performer and stuntwoman. Rumors persist that she is in contact with other descendants and survivors of the Firestarter project, despite her own and the government's official refusal to comment.
