4: What is the color of the character's hair, eyes and skin?

Light silver-white, metallic gold eyes, pale skin. The colors are natural. Her hair is worn in a large spiky bun in the back. She has long side bangs and bangs over her eyes.

5: What is the character's general appearance ?
(How does he stand? How does he dress? Are you attractive? Do you try to look intimidating or casual?)
Gorgeous! Long shapely legs, trim waist, nice rear, firm bust that stands up by itself, and an angelic face. Yet there is something, disturbing about her. Not so much seen, but felt. She has a cold, almost alien beauty. This is accented by her inhuman eyes and her cute little fangs. She looks very young for her age and could pass for a teenager.

Attractive, naughty, distant at times. Not aloof, she just doesn't seem to fit in or interact well with people sometimes, especially normal people. She can be mischievous too. Sometimes, she is nice and somewhat shy. Sometimes naughty. She dresses in the standard AMP uniform on duty. Of duty, her dress ranges from simple, feminine outfits and dresses to smutty leather 'bad girl' style clothes. She sometimes wears such 'naughty' clothes under her uniform, for going out later.

Notice the two looks she has. When she is acting sociable and nice she wears nice dresses (off duty) and is a bit shy, but nice. She is someone you'd see hanging around with Miko when she is like this. A "good" girl. Amelia is at other times, a naughty girl. When like this, she will wear bad girl clothes (off duty) and act like the kind of girl mom's tell their boys to stay away from. A "bad" girl. On duty she wears the standard AMP uniform, but includes a regular nightstick as well as the stun one. She says "This one doesn't run out of batteries!"

She is very physically attractive and somewhat imposing. Amelia looks quite young, she could pass for 17 or so. She also has a tangible (sense without any mystic senses) aura around her. Something about her just doesn't feel right, just doesn't seem quite, human. When angered, she can become even more imposing (her PRE can go up). This is usually seen only in "bad girl" mode, but can also happen as she changes from "good" to "bad". When she changes to "bad girl" mode, an almost sinister look crosses her pretty features and you can just tell (feel as well as see) that she's not the same Amelia. Usually something happens to set off the change, ex: she gets angry, frustrated, even just bored. After she "Calms down" for a while, she seems to slip back into "good girl" mode again. Sometimes getting depressed and feeling ashamed of how she acted.

8: Does the character have any family?

Her mother is in a mental institution, her father is missing. Insanity as well as great magic power runs in her family. Fortunately, she is an only child. Her mother is schizophrenic. Her father (an Inverness) didn't practice magic, wanting to live a 'normal' life. But his daughter was a problem. Amelia had her 'gifts' from a very young age. Her other-worldly nature slowly drove her mother insane (even though she is NOT an Inverness). This was not intentional on her part. Her father disappeared soon after. This happened when she was 18. Amelia doesn't know about her family and its notorious history. She hasn't been able to find her father anywhere.

Other Invernesses either manage to stay sane (and at low power) or go nuts (and potentially get great power like a 0 SAN character in Call of Cthulu). When insane they are either schizophrenic, or (even worse) sociopathic megalomaniacs. It is the latter that give the family its notorious reputation.

Her mother is in a state run institution. The family (her part) isn't very wealthy. They also wanted to keep a low profile and try to fit in. It didn't work, especially with Amelia. The family usually "locks away" the ones that go nuts, if they can. It is not something they like to talk about, most want to ignore them.

Note that most of the family that has gotten anywhere near her power level have gone completely insane. Amelia is basically sane.

She knows and cares about her familiy, but her mother does better when she isn't around. She has some guilt, but knows it really isn't her fault. She tries not to think about it.

What she feels more than guilt is something even worse, a lack of humanity. She doesn't feel like a person that inadvertently harmed people she loved, she doesn't even feel like a person at all. She feels as if she is a thing, and inhuman entity. She has no fear of going insane herself, what she finds even more disturbing is the fact that she IS sane. No human with this kind of power should be sane, she is. It doesn't bother her at all. The power feels natural to her. It is an instinctive part of her, so she feels that she can't be human. She (in her opinion) is WORSE than insane, she is a monster. To her horror, she likes it, often drunk with her power.

9: Where or how was the character educated?
(Corp school, "public" schooling, the school of hard knocks?)
All private education. Her parents weren't rich, but they could afford it (upper middle class).

10: What did the character do for a living previously?
Basically what the AMP does, even before she joined! To get money she sometimes performed "services" of a mystical nature. Sometimes she stole from people of a less than reputable nature (i.e. she stole from crooks). She is NOT a goody two shoes (she can be very naughty) but she is basically a good person (even though she doesn't think so) and wants to save humanity from the entities, etc. She lives in her parent's house. It is on a hill overlooking downtown LA.

11: Who is hunting the character and why?
1) People from her homeland that still have a grudge against her family line.
2) People here that evil Invernesses have harmed.
3) Evil Invernesses themselves.
4) Religious fanatics and the like that think she is a vampire/demon/entity.

12: Does the character have any political beliefs? Religious?
She could care less about such things. They hold no significance to her. She was brought up without any religious affiliation.

13: What is the character's moral code?
(Will you kill? ... okay, stupid question... What do you define as an innocent? Do you have any sort of sexual code of ethics?)
She will kill anyone she sees as a threat to herself or people she cares for (very small group). She doesn't perceive innocence or guilt the way most people do. She sees things in shades of gray, not black and white. She questions what is good, evil, just, innocent. The term 'innocent' really doesn't have much meaning for her. Sex, well, she does what she likes. She can be very naughty in this way though (as well as others).

14: Does the character have any goals?
(Is this enough for you? Do you have any ambitions beyond this? Is yes, how long are you willing to wait?)
To become great, powerful, and famous (in a good way). Help save the world. Even though she questions just what is good and evil, what people working for Nemesis want to do is definitely evil. She's not so wacky that she can't see that. Her life has been dark and unhappy, she wants to be happy. She wants to come to terms with just who and what she is. She thinks exploring her power is the way to do that. She also wants to give her family a good name. She IS a monster, she has to accept that. She wants to be a 'good' monster, if she can. If she can figure out just what 'good' really is and keep her own 'naughtiness' under control.

15: What led the character to join the AMP?
(Are you trying to get back at someone? A personal plan? Will you leave? If so why?)
No, sort of (see above), Probably not, it's her home and family now! It's the only place she feels she fits in, and many of her goals can be done there.

16: What is the character's personality?
(This is apart form just basic psych lims. Are you an idealist, radical, pessimist, militant, aloof etc.)
Amelia has two distinct sides to her personality, but some things remain constant. She's cold at times, and has trouble relating to most (normal) people. She is unsure about her humanity, and is slow to open up to people. She is dark and mysterious. She is also loyal to the AMP. It is her family now. She doesn't talk much about herself, but when she does, it usually shows just how odd she truly is. She tends to give people the 'willies'. She feels she is not really human, but some sort of monster. Worst of all, she LIKES it. Being 'naughty' is FUN!

The two very different sides of her personality are obvious if you know her even for a short time. Evenwhen she is acting nice, you can almost see somethingnot right lurking behind those golden eyes of hers. Sheseems to "loose control" sometimes and switch into"bad girl" mode. When "Bad" she sometimes does and says things that she regrets (and apologizes for) later. However, she seems to LIKE being in her "bad girl" mode.

When good she can be very inquisitive, wanting to know what people can do and how their abilities work. She also seems to change the subject when she is questioned about herself sometimes. There are things she doesn't want to remember. She is very obviously loyal to the AMP and is very accepting of her fellow officers. Even when "bad", she seems to work well with others (just more aggressively).

17: What is the character very good at?
(Aside from whatever skills you have written down, is there anything else your characters does well? Dealing with people, planning, taking care of business etc.)
Magic, she has a strong (almost inhuman) innate ability for it. She is also very good at analyzing things, she could make a good detective, given the proper training.

18: Are there certain things the character just can't do?
(Get close to people, work well with others, handle money, think clearly under stress etc.)
Fit in to 'normal' society. She always stands out. She has few friends. Amelia is a 'do what I want; take what I want' kind of person, and can have trouble following rules and responding to (normal) authority.

19: What does the character hate?
(MegaCorps? The media? Certain people? If so, why?)
If she hates anything, it's herself. She's a monster, and worst of all, sometimes she LIKES it. It feels good to use her power. Her humanity seems to shrink away from it, but another part of her embraces it.

20: What does the character love?
She loves succeeding at doing something 'good'. But she isn't sure just what 'good' really is. She's not sure what love is.

21: Is there anything else I should know?
Yes!

In General: Amelia Inverness is descended from a long and notorious line of magic users. Legend has it that their ancestors were quite insane to begin with and mated with entities, demons, and lots of other inhuman stuff. This caused them to be very powerful with magic, but also to be even more mentally unstable! Many in her family line have become powerful, and insane. Whole cities have been reported destroyed over the centuries by them. They are respected for their power, feared and hated for how they tend to use it. Think 0 San characters from Call of Cthulhu!

Facts: They did, in fact, cross breed with some really nasty stuff.
They also are very inbred, thus worsening the problem.
They didn't destroy whole cities, but they did cause a lot of trouble.
The Loch Ness monster is something they are associated with.

Ancestral Home: The city of Inverness is named after the Inverness family itself, it is their ancestral home. The family home (overlooking the city) is abandoned now, but many generations of the family lived there. It has 3 towers, but there is a legend of a mysterious 4 tower that mystically appears every so often. The family was eventually driven from Scotland (usually by enraged mobs) and they settled in the U.S. (New England) in the 1600's, and eventually moved west.

Facts: There IS a forth tower that phases in and out of this dimension every so often. This is the result of a spell that went REAL bad.

In America: The Inverness family didn't change after it settled in America. People still fear and hate them. It is rumored that the great San Francisco quake and other disasters were caused by them. It is also rumored that they are responsible for summoning entities and other monsters and that they want to take over/destroy the world (take your pick of rumors). The family name frequently makes the headlines of the 'Weekly World News' and other similar 'publications'. They are synonymous with Frankenstein.

Facts: This is mostly reputation and legend, not fact. They AREN'T responsible for everything bad, they just get the blame! There are a few crazy ones that actually DO want to take over/destroy the world though.

Amelia is the latest of the Inverness line. She is a dedicated AMP officer, but you could say that she has some... baggage!

GAME MASTER'S NOTES ON AMELIA INVERNESS:

Inverness: Inverness is located on the River Ness, north of the infamous Loch Ness. It sits on the shores of Beauly Firth. It has a population of some 40,000 persons (c. 1997) and is one of the largest towns in all of Scotland and the largest town of the Scottish Highlands. Inverness was founded sometime before 1100, and was granted a royal charter in 1140. There is an Inverness Castle, but it was built in 1836. There are a scattering of other castles in the area, but most aren't very notable. The local area was called Inverness-shire up until 1975. I don't know if the shires and counties were redrawn after that.

It is more likely that the Inverness family estate is a fortified manor house than a true castle. It is also likely that whatever the Inverness family had is now a ruin. Many castles were torn down during the Jacobite rebellion of the mid 1700's. As to the Inverness family founding the town... that open to debate. It is also possible they took their name from the local area (a common happening for period surnames. Michael of York may eventually become "Michael York" for example).

Urquhart Castle: This is probably the most well known castle in the local area. It sits on the shores of Loch Ness, over looking Urquhart Bay. The castle itself dates from the 1200's, (probably built between 1230 and 1240) although the present ruins were mainly constructed in the 1500's. The castle was destroyed in 1692 by British troops to prevent the Jacobites from using it. The castle lays on grounds that have ruins that date back to the Normans (c 1100), or even older (ie. 'Dark Ages' construction). Note that Urquhart Bay is one of the most frequent places to view the Loch Ness monster and is probably the deepest point in the Loch.

Loch Ness: Loch Ness is huge. It is 24 miles long and a mile wide. It reaches depths of well over 700 feet in several areas and may reach depths of 1050 feet right off of Urquhart Bay. The Loch never freezes and is stained coffee brown due to peat runoff from the surrounding hills (note that below a few feet, the waters of the Loch get very dark). The Loch is usually cold, averaging 42 degrees years around. The Loch supports a huge population of fish and eels (it said the eel population could be in the 'millions'). It is said that very large eels live deep within the Loch at depths of several hundred feet or more.

A quick note on the size of the Loch. At 700 feet, it is twice as deep at the mean depth of the North Sea (which is quite shallow all things considering). There are large caves in the walls and the floor is made of thick silt (possible several hundred feet thick). The Loch is above sea level and does not connect to the sea.

The Loch is said to 'not give up its dead', a common quote about many deep and 'strange' lakes. As a side note, in 1952 John Cobb tried to set a world speed record for a boat on the Loch's smooth surface. He was killed when his speed boat overturned. It is said the boat struck a wave or ripple created by the Loch Ness Monster...

The Loch Ness Monster: The Monster (aka 'Nessie') dates all the way back to 565. Saint Columba was said to have ordered the Monster away after it surfaced and tried to attack a man swimming to retrieve a boat the Saint needed to cross the Loch (or, the River Ness). There is a second report from 1527 where the Monster comes ashore and kills three men with three swipes of its tail. The 'modern' Monster 'craze' was started in the early 30's with numerous sightings and photos. The most famous, the so-called 'Surgeon's Photo' taken in 1934 has since been revealed to be a fake.

Nessie is about 40' long at the maximum, dark brown or black and probably has the over all shape of a plesiosaur. It is a fish eater and may come ashore from time to time. What the Inverness's did with it is anyone's guess.

Inverness family: I'd like to point out a few things.

1 - Unless the Inverness's intermarry (and really screw up the blood line), Amelia's mother is *not* a direct descendent of the family. Her father is and probably has the same power potential that Amelia does (as well as the extended life span).

2 - Madness. It is likely that Amelia may have been responsible for her mother whacking out. Her bursts of wild magic and other exhibits of power may have convinced her that her daughter was 'evil' or 'possessed' or something similar. A darker possibility is that her father, attempting to restrain or deal with his own powers killed Amelia's mother, the act driving her father mad in the process.

3 - What Amelia knows. Actually, it may be that Amelia knows jack about her background. If her father (or her parents) tried to keep the family history hidden or tried to ignore the family's tendency for magic and madness, Amelia may not be to sure about her lineage. If this is true, then you should dump the KS and all. You can't be secretive about things you don't know. Of course, Rally may know about the Inverness line and may have recruited you in an attempt to protect/train you.
