Donovan Knight

Background/History: Since he was a boy, Don has been fascinated by flight. After the inevitable leap from the second story window with a towel tied around his neck and the sad realization that gravity is a harsh mistress, Don focused his attention to what would allow him to reach the skies: planes.

He got his pilot's license shortly after getting his driver's permit. He worked hard to excel in his studies and to keep physically fit, for his goal was to join the Air Force and become a fighter pilot. He joined, graduated from the Academy, and got his wings. He served in the Air Force for six years, until something happened and he was discharged.

Undeterred, Don got a job as an airline pilot and now guides the huge airborne buses across the globe. His plan is to make enough money to buy a plane of his own and start a small charter company in the Caribbean.

Personality/Motivation: Don has the kind of easygoing face and manner that puts people at ease. He has a bit of the fighter pilot cockiness still in him, but doesn't take himself seriously enough for it to be an issue. He does take his responsibilities seriously, though, and is very professional when the need arises.

His social life is constrained by his lack of a fixed address; he has an apartment but spends very little time in it. He currently has no significant other, but does the rounds in the bars like any other pilot.

If there is one thing that drives him, it is the lure of the wild blue yonder. He enjoys his time behind the wheel in the cockpit, which is why he's got the most hours logged of any of the other pilots. He's been known to bend many an ear talking about catching thermals or the latest innovation on aerodynamic technology.
He doesn't mention it to anyone, but in his dreams, he joyfully soars through the air, without plane or wings, the wind whipping the tears from his eyes and stealing his breath.

Quote: "Welcome aboard. Thank you for flying with us."

Powers/Tactics: Don keeps himself fit as a matter of habit and as a small matter of vanity. He remembers his Air Force training (he's only been out a couple of years), although most of the heavy stuff is fading from lack of use.

His travels around the world have shown he has a knack for picking up languages, and usually has set of stock phrases he can use wherever he touches down.
He logs his hours not only on the big jet airliners, but also on small planes when he can.

Appearance: The physical model for Donovan Knight is Matt leBlanc, Don West in the remake of Lost in Space.
