Designer's Notes: Brondingnagians live on an immense peninsula, 6,000 miles long by 3,000 miles wide. Supposedly located in the northern Pacific near California, careful reading of Gulliver’s location before he encounters Brondingnag would have their land cover some of easter Siberia, the Bering Sea, Alaska, and the Yukon. A 30 mile high range of volcanos separates Brondingnag from unknown lands to the northeast. The capital of Brondingnag is Lorbrulgrud.

Brondingnagians are as large as their country, standing 60’ in height, with a stride of 10 yards. The plants, animals, and even the weather is in proportion, with rats the size of a dogs, flies the size of birds, and a monkey sufficiently large enough to pick up Gulliver and carry him off. According to the king of Brondingnag, fossils show the people to have been even larger in the past, and he feels the race isn’t what it once was.

Brondingnagian society is a monarchy, with the government based on the application of reason. The king of Brondingnag doesn’t care much for descriptions of European society, calling them “the most pernicious race of little odious vermin that nature ever suffered to crawl upon the surface of the earth.” Laws in Brondingnag are simple and easy to follow. Civil suits are almost unknown, and murderers are executed publicly.

The typical Brondingnagian is learned in ethics, history, poetry, and mathematics. He is literate, but there are few books (the largest library has only 1,000 volumes). The army uses sword and pike, gunpowder is unknown.
