Background/History: Son of Odin Allfather, king of Asgard, Thor was raised to be a warrior worthy of his heritage. He and his brother Loki grew up under their parent's watchful eyes and were given every advantage. Thor grew to be powerful and handsome. He was the strongest of the gods and the most skilled of Asgard's warriors. He claimed the mighty Mjolnier as his own and tore a swath through all the greatest enemies of Asgard. He is beloved by his future subjects and feared by all the enemies of his realm. With the exception of his brother Loki, few dare to challenge him.

His future as King of Asgard is a distant one, his father remains strong and no immediate enemies come close to challenging the realm. As such Thor has a fair amount of time to explore the worlds of creation as long as he is available when needed. Of all the nine realms, the realm of Earth intrigues him the most. The vast majority of the "mortals" there are frail by Asgardian standards but their bravery continues to impress him. The villainy of their super criminals matches or exceeds anything he has seen in the realms of the Giants or the Dark Elves. Although he knows Asgard relies on him for its defense, it is filled with many skilled warriors. By comparison Midgard seems to need him so much more, and the hearts of the heroes he has met there inspire him greatly. It is hard for him to stay away. The extensive amount of time he spends on Earth has begun to draw the ire of his fellow warriors back home.

Personality/Motivation: Thor is an honorable warrior who takes his position as a Prince of Asgard and defender of the realms seriously, but with perhaps a bit too much confidence. He is cheerful and curious until his temper is tested, then his anger legendary. His approach to most situations is straightforward. He smites that which stands in his way and assumes the rest will take care of itself. He feels he has earned the respect of the Gods and defers only to his father, secure in the knowledge that he is Asgard's greatest champion.

Earth is a very complex and mysterious place to Thor. He distrusts technology, wary of the many terrible uses it can be put too but understands that the mortals live and breathe it in a way no other species does.

Quote: "Move back mortals! Thor the Thunderer will deal with these villains!"

Powers/Tactics: As "the Thunderer" Thor can project lighting from the sky as well as his hammer. He likes to push these attacks and Haymaker when he has the time to do so but his first love is hand to hand combat. He typically opens a fight by tossing his hammer through several weaker opponents and then charging into close combat with the strongest opponent. Against multiple enemies he will rapid attack to clear the field quickly.

Thor has an apparently telekinetic control over his hammer, but can only activate most of his powers when holding it in his hands. His indirect "Returning Hammer" power represents his ability to mentally direct Mjolnir to slam it into his opponents from behind or above as well as hurling it at enemies.

Appearance:

Designer's Notes: Thor is the most expensive Avenger point wise thanks to his formidable and varied powers. A few notes:

The hammer is considered an OIF because he can be disarmed and Mjolnir can be buried or englobed to prevent him from retrieving it, making it a Focus. Thor's ability to mentally call it back if he is disarmed or separated from it makes it an Inaccessible focus. Calling the hammer back requires a half action & an Ego Roll.

Thor is clearly more dangerous in close combat with his hammer than without, but the general damage he puts out in the show does not seem to go up tremendously when he uses Mjolnier. As such the designer has chosen to represent the hammer as a naked advantage on his STR rather than extra dice of damage.
