The one time we see him needing medical attention is when he takes a bullet wound to the shoulder serious enough to knock him unconscious; it seems likely that the shoulder was Disabled and that the attention was required due to Brock's regen being unable to heal lost limbs. 6 I Coughed Up Something The Size Of A Kiwi Fruit, But I Don't Feel Anything Missing: Life Support (Extended Breathing: 1 END per Turn; Safe in High Pressure; Safe in High Radiation; Safe in Intense Cold; Safe in Intense Heat; Safe in Low Pressure/Vacuum); Requires A CON Roll (-1/2), Nonpersistent (-1/4) Notes: Being exposed to the vacuum of space without protective gear clearly hurt Brock, but didn't kill him or cause any lasting negative effects. That could have just been due to his incredible CON, BOD, and DamRed, but it seems likely he needed life support as well. 10 You Don't Think I'd Let Anyone Else Kill My Brock Samson?: Luck 4d6; Only to prevent death (-1) Notes: On those few occasions when certain death faces Brock despite his abilities, he somehow comes through. The short form is that they often pursue different goals, and will fight just short of to the death over those goals; on the other hand, their romantic link is very strong. If you do not want to treat this as a rivalry, consider treating it as a Watched. 10 Social Limitation: Subject to orders (Occasionally, Major) Notes: Brock rarely hears from the OSI these days, but must obey when he does 122 Experience Points 472 Total Disadvantage Points
Background/History: Former college football player, one time room mate of Rusty Venture, former Marine, currently a failed OSI Agent on permanent assignment to operation "Rusty's Blanket". Brock Samson had a fabulous career with the OSI, until as yet un-revealed professional errors caused him to be permanently assigned as the body guard of the Venture family. Regardless of how he may originally have felt about the assignment, he has learned to think of the Venture's as "His" family, and will do almost anything to protect them.
While he is a womanizer, the one woman Brock ever loved is Molotov Coqtiz, an ex-KGB Agent turned mercenary and one of a tiny handful of people as deadly and skilled as Brock himself. Brock's relationship with Molotov is complicated; their meetings invariably mix combat with never-relieved sexual tension (due to Molotov's titanium chastity belt and oath to her father). While Molotov has saved Brock's life on at least one occasion, and has willingly taken an assignment protecting the Ventures as a favor to him, she places her assignments above all, and is as much a rival as a love interest.
Brock had at least one mentor, Hunter Gathers, former head of the OSI and now a transsexual fugitive. Other important old friends and enemies include Race Bannon ("One of the best") and David Bowie.
Personality/Motivation: Brock was portrayed as an ultra-macho borderline psychopath in the earliest episodes, but has evolved into a much more complex and sympathetic character. A mix of ex-Jock and ex-military man, a Lead Zeppelin fan and faithful guardian, Brock is a killer with a conscience. It is unclear if he realizes just how far he has fallen in the eyes of his few peers.
Brock cares for the Venture boys as if they were his own nephews, and while he often shows irritation with Rusty Venture, it is clear that he is both fond of and protective of the man. Brock has been making recent efforts to get more in touch with his gentler side, but so far that hasn't stopped him from killing people.
Brock doesn't like to use guns or gadgets, but is competent with them.
Quote: "I like killing guys when I'm wearing a tux. Makes me feel like James Bond."
Powers/Tactics: Brock usually charges in and starts killing people. He'll sometimes kill people in surprising and colorful ways, both for entertainment and as a boost to his PRE attacks. By combining acting, oratory, and extremely violent actions, Brock is able to terrify large crowds of minions. He's also surprisingly good at making friends and charming women (and gay men). When enraged, he becomes an almost unstoppable killing machine.
Brock is not invincible. He is occasionally rendered unconscious, usually by massed attacks from large groups but at least once by a single 9mm bullet to the shoulder. While Brock could in theory be killed fairly simply while unconscious, he tends to end up buried alive, dumped into tar pits, and otherwise placed in situations that he will eventually escape. In this write up, that is reflected by his Luck.
Brock's first priority is to defend the Ventures. He will not kill a woman or a child, but is willing to use violence to subdue them.
Campaign Use: Brock should be the toughest of the tough agents in any campaign. He's a legend in his own setting, with only a tiny number of people realizing that his time with the Ventures is actually a major step down in his career. To cut his point total, drop his contacts and equipment. To boost his power, add CSLs and Overall Levels.
Design Notes: I tried to cover everything, but I doubtless missed this or that. Feel free to add to the write up.
Appearance: A huge bodybuilder beach boy type in a mullet and eighties fashions, with crazy blue eyes, a square jaw, and usually covered in blood.
